Important Customer Action Required

As announced in our previous email update to customers*, from August 30th, many new back-end changes to our support system are being updated to improve our services to you. The main two areas this is affecting are your clinic's access to the Help Site as well as the Customer Portal.  Please see updates and required actions from your clinic's users below.

Please see the forwarded URGENT email from CMS below. 

If you are planning on submitting your PQRS data for 2016 from Phoenix Ortho, you need to follow the steps below to Recertify your User Accounts with EIDM.  If this is going to be your first year reporting PQRS from Phoenix Ortho, you will need to have your EIDM account set up as a PQRS submitter.  If you have any questions on how to do this, please see our online help article Report Once using Phoenix Ortho EHR*.  This will guide you to how to report.

Imperfectly Seizing the Unknown: Embracing Innovation in the Medical Profession

Kevin Kelly, former editor of Wired magazine, wrote an article several years ago where he discussed the radical transformation of the global economy based on the digital revolution of the 90s.  In the article entitled, “New Rules for the New Economy”, he postulated several “rules” to help individuals and companies thrive, not merely survive, under these new conditions. 

Without doubt the entire article is fascinating, yet one quote sticks out over all the others. Mr. Kelly proposed, “Wealth in this new regime flows directly from innovation, not optimization; that is, wealth is not gained from perfecting the known, but by imperfectly seizing the unknown.”  Profound, right?

Much like the digital environment that Mr. Kelly was writing about, there has been an equally radical shift in the business environment of private practicing physicians as well – one every bit as jarring and transformational.  It stands to reason that parallels can be drawn between the two events.

CMS New Rules for Meaningful Use (MU) 2015 Reporting

CMS recently released a final rule that specifies criteria that eligible professionals (EPs), eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals (CAHs) must meet in order to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs. The final rule’s provisions encompass 2015 through 2017 (Modified Stage 2) as well as Stage 3 in 2018 and beyond. (See CMS links and PDFs below.)
