Customer Updates: ICD-10 Cheat Sheet, and much more!

October 01, 2015

ICD-10 is here!

You've been in anticipation for the deadline and so have we. But there's no need to worry; we're prepared and ready for game time. Please see the following information and resources to help you "execute the ICD10 playbook".

A few helpful tips for Best Practice:

  • The Phoenix Ortho Diagnosis usage view streamlines the ICD-9 to ICD-10 mapping process. The Diagnosis usage view shows all previously used ICD-9 codes.
  • Physicians and support staff should focus efforts on mapping of codes that each provider has previously used.
  • Avoid the random mapping of codes that have not previously been used.
  • Phoenix Ortho’s ICD-10 First tool supports the selection of codes on the fly and instantly adds them to the “Today's diagnosis” for the current patient.
  • For existing patients that may require an ICD-9 code, select the prior diagnosis from the “Historical diagnosis”. Simply drag and drop from the “Historical diagnosis” to “Today’s diagnosis”.
  • Make sure your clinic is updated with the latest ICD-10 tool set (you can request an upgrade from help@phoenixortho.net). Please take full advantage your maintenance agreement by requesting an upgrade.
